Area41 News ! – A lot of new info releases have been made for Area41 this last month, most notably the Call For Papers (CFP) opening up, of which you have until end of April to submit so get to it and show us your awesome work and have a chance to speak at one of the best and most respected technical infosec cons in Switzerland! 😀

Additionally, we have also announced the ticket release date, April 26th at 16:00, for which there will be battles to death to try secure your golden pass. For you official DEF CON Switzerland Members (Shout out DC4131 gang!), you should have already received a lovely little surprise this week via email, demonstrating the continued benefits of being an official DC4131 member 🙂

Greetings DC4131 Community!

Apologies for the delay in officially informing you of this months activities, as you can imagine we are in full steam of organising Area41 conference items, supporting the expansion of existing events, experiencing record breaking attendance numbers across multiple locations (you guys are awesome!! :D) and re-introducing old event friends in coming months, so always a lot to keep us busy! And we appreciate the support you guys give us over these times.

As a reminder for our community in Chur/Sargans, an exciting new effort is in effect to better entice and accommodate our infosec neighbours in Liechtenstein, meaning the BoT Chur is now meeting across 2 locations, alternating monthly. On EVEN months (i.e. 02/o4/06/08/10/12) the meetup is happening in the brand spanking new Sargans locaiton (Deja Vu Bar) . On ODD months (i.e. 01/03/05/07/09/11) the meetup is happening in the well known and loved location Sunshine Pub.

Hello to all you wonderful people!
We are very much now settled in to 2024 and time keeps on flying by. We are already laying the foundations for our glorious infosec con that is scheduled for later this year, Area41. It’s gunna be a beauty! 😀 Take a look and keep on top of our updates here:

Additionally, as our communities continue to ever grow and evolve, a couple changes are occurring across a couple locations, so please be sure to read the following updates carefully to not be misinformed! 🙂

For our community in Chur, an exciting new effort is being attempted to better entice and accommodate our infosec neighbours in Liechtenstein, meaning the BoT Chur will now be meeting across 2 locations, alternating monthly. On EVEN months (i.e. 02/o4/06/08/10/12) the meetup will happen in the brand spanking new Sargans locaiton (Deja Vu Bar) . This time, our eyes are set on the Schiffbau Bar, just around the corner and really look forward to seeing what you guys think of it. We aim to please, and feedback from all is always much appreciated 🙂

We made it, this year has certainly….been one for a lot of people. But as we reflect over the last 12 months, we do so in the best environment possible,  warm and comfortable, with good drinks and good people 🙂

We, as the DEFCON Board, wish to briefly thank you for your commitment and contributions to our community overt the last year, we certainly would be where we are without you! Why hello there fellow friend 🙂

A welcome back shout out to those came back and survived summer hacker camp this year! (Black Hat, DEFCON, BSides and the rest…) 😀 We hope you collected all the badges and won all the CTFs 😉 Keep an eye out for all the amazing content about to be dropped on the official DEF CON YouTube channel soon, a lot of awesome knowledge and nuggets to digest.
